Our favorite way to take advantage of the great outdoors in the Queen City during the warm months is pretty simple: Charlotte patio and rooftop bars. With warmer weather comes longer daylight, blooming flowers, and of course, drinking outside. Ahh, spring is finally here.
Sycamore is strongly rooted in Charlotte, with a mission to keep the Queen City enchanted with craft beer by using only the freshest ingredients to brew their all-natural beer. Spend a warm Carolina evening in the brewery’s beer garden, listening to live jams under the warm glow of string lights, sipping on a tasty brew from one of the 28 ever-changing taps, and one thing becomes clear… mission accomplished.
Located in the heart of Plaza Midwood, Whiskey Warehouse offers a selection local craft brews alongside an appropriately extensive whiskey list. Whether you’re a whiskey connoisseur or a casual drinker, pick your poison and take it up the stairs to Top Shelf, the festive rooftop patio with a skyline view and a centerpiece wrap-around bar.
The Imperial Cocktail Lounge
The Imperial had already won us over, combining live music and original crafted cocktails in a unique 50’s inspired lounge, making it a triple threat nightlife destination. That’s why we’re counting down the days for this Charlotte bar to take it to the next level, literally, with the launch of their rooftop area. The April 15th opening will feature live jazz, delicious cocktails, and stunning cars, rounding out the Don Draper dream.
Craft City Social Club
Opening in 2016, this poolside social hub is a slice of getaway paradise right in the Queen City. With delicious poolside eats from a Nuevo-Latino inspired menu, sharable cocktail pitchers, complimentary game areas, and private rentable cabanas, Craft City Social Club is the perfect harbor for your weekend voyage.
When people hear Charlotte rooftop bar, Fahrenheit is often the first place to come to mind. From the 21st floor of the Skye Condos, guests can take in the stunning skyline view, dine on a delicious dish from chef Rocco Whalen, and sip a deliciously crafted cocktail, wine or beer.
The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery
Other breweries have entered the scene since OMB opened in March 2009 as Charlotte’s only local brewery, but Olde Meck remains a pillar of local craft. This German-inspired locale features an outdoor beer oasis, a Biergarten set on eight picturesque acres, making this the perfect place to sample a few brews with friends, family, and pets alike.
Joining the Plaza Midwood neighborhood in 2012, this farm-to-fork gastropub serves up traditional American fare infused with a Southern twist, alongside 24 rotating taps. Start your weekends off right, seated on this beautiful rooftop deck, brunching with your buds and scoping out the Queen City skyline.
RuRu’s Tacos & Tequila
Tucked off of Providence Road, this eatery masterfully dishes out exactly what you’d think…tacos and tequila. Offering a menu filled with delicious mexican grub, playfully named after cult classics, and over 100 tequilas, the only thing that could make it better is a gorgeous outdoor bar, complete with a courtyard fountain and festive string lights. Oh wait, they have that too.
