The hotspot restaurant will host a full-out New Year’s Eve Bash on December 31st. Plan on an open bar and buffet from 10pm-2am, with an in-house DJ. 5Church has a champagne toast planned at midnight with a live countdown of the ball drop. A portion of the night’s proceeds will go to support the Levine Children’s Hospital.
This craft cocktail bar and swanky lounge is one of Uptown’s newest destinations. On NYE from 9 p.m.-2 a.m, they will host a ’50s themed black tie party with live jazz – one of the bar’s signatures – and a DJ on the rooftop. They will offer hors d’oeuvres and a champagne toast at midnight.
New Year’s Eve is the 4th Annual Southern Skyline Grand Ball at Le Meridien, one of the biggest parties of the year with an expected 4000 guests. Named Charlotte’s “Best Rooftop Bar,” the hotel’s all-inclusive, black-tie optional celebration is a way to ring out 2016 in style. The party starts at 9pm and goes until 2. Look for live music with the Columbia-based Atlas Road Crew, Augusta-based Funk You & The Funk Brotherhorns, and Nashville-based The Vegabonds, among other yet-to-be-announced entertainers and novelty acts. Executive Chef Oscar A. La Fuente is serving up gourmet hors d’oeuvres, and a slow-motion photo booth and professional photographers will be on hand to capture the night.
Ink N Ivy

The dinner includes an Asiago Artichoke and Crab Dip appetizer, Bourbon Butternut Squash Soup or Zesty Sweet Potato Salad, a Prime Rib entree with horseradish aioli, white cheddar mashed potatoes and honey braised carrots, and the Rock Bottom brownie with ice cream, raspberry puree, whipped cream and fresh raspberries. Dinner also includes a pint of any of the house beers or a glass of champagne.
The Avett Brothers at Bojangles’ Coliseum
If the bar scene isn’t your thing, we have but one suggestion: get yourselves to The Avett Brothers this New Year’s Eve. The NC natives are in their home state again this NYE, and after they had a killer year with the release of True Sadness, you can close 2016 out right with the band at Bojangles Coliseum.
Ring in 2017 in luxury with an overnight stay at The Ballantyne. The NYE party starts at 8 p.m., with a DJ and dancing in the Carolina Room, drink specials, party favors, Champagne toast and live coverage of the New Year’s Eve Times Square countdown. New Year’s Day, in addition to a plated brunch menu, Gallery Restaurant will feature traditional New Year’s Day fare and cocktail specials.
